Loneliness.

And trying to stay sane and calm for the remainder of my career.

@JoyfulSilence: Yeah. I too, am trying to stay sane and calm. Has NOT been easy at all lately.

Yes, I have noticed. You work such long hours and some clients are nuts. I hope you can cut back and work with calmer people.

My job is OK, with no long hours (I go home whenever I want, as long as I work 80 hours every two weeks). And most people are normal. I just wish I did not have to work for a living! LOL!

The loneliness is tough, though. Which is why I come on here.

@JoyfulSilence: I almost quit this morning. My boss threatened to fire me if I didn't go work with a certain client I was not even scheduled with today. I felt it wasn't get worth getting fired over. BUT, I am looking for another job now. I am done giving all and getting nothing in return.

So, off I go to work with the client I just told my supervisor was causing me health issues. She doesn't give a shit.

Your boss is an ass. If you do get another job, go egg his or her house after, or something.

@JoyfulSilence: Oh believe me. I WILL get my revenge on her.

@JoyfulSilence: Then she realized she pissed me off royally and told me she was buying me dinner. I told her I don't want it.

Maybe she needs you and worries you will leave and she will have nobody or nobody as qualified to take over your roster.

I had a performance evaluation recently. One thing we need to do is attend lectures and/or take classes, as part of "training." I see a lot of it as a waste of time and as distracting me from getting my work done. I finally told my boss how I feel. He agreed a bit about what I was saying, since he has to do management training which he does not always like. But that is how it is. That's the job. Higher ups want it so we must accept it. He encouraged me nicely to attend more lectures. I said I would to keep people happy. It is frustrating now because I am struggling to get my work done. They helped by reassigning some of my work.

Taking classes would be tough now, though, due to the budget situation (I am a federal employee and we are on a continuing resolution which means we must get by on last year's funding levels, even though there is inflation in operating costs and even in salaries that must be covered). We can only take free in-house classes taught by coworkers, now.

I just want to say "Fuck it!" at times and retire. Too young and too poor. Ugh.
