Nothing wrong with that at all. You've been a mother and caregiver for many years. There's no reason to feel guilty because you crave having your own needs met.

There's a time for others and a time for yourself. Right now it's your time!

Guess I'll just let you have this one 😉 Lol @DarkDelight

Oh don't worry I'm keeping my eye on you 😜@DarkDelight
Oh boy, am I glad to hear you say that. I had to break myself of that. Please do as you've said. That is so important. I'm really happy for you. You deserve to put yourself first and no, that is not being selfish. That's taking good care of yourself and being wise. I'm proud of your decision.

You gotta take care of yourself first. It's ok to help other people but to make sure they're always happy or satisfied at your expense, if you don't give to you, will they?

Making others happy will only make you feel worse. It is not selfish to care for yourself.

I often feel that way. It is what I refer to as sacrificing my happiness on the altar of hers (my wife).

She will so often adamantly say that she just wants me to be happy. The reality is that she wants me to he happy within the confines of her own happiness.

@JusUrGrlNxtDr: on a constant. It can lead to resentment, and does. It can lead to poor decisions, and does.
TxBtrflyX2 · 46-50, F
@WellFrog How did it go from "us" to me or you? whatever happened to compromise?
WellFrog · 56-60, M
@JusUrGrlNxtDr: Thereby hangs a tale. Where does compromise go? That depends largely on the capacity of one or both to recognize and offer compromise. Like much in life when you find yourself in such a place, compromise can be a one way street.

You have to make yourself happy...to truly give happiness to those around you. :)
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
Same, I very much focus on others happiness above my own.
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
With me it's the same. I just put my focus on other people how to make THEM happy and satisfied and I always forget myself about it.
Not most, but a lot of it yes, but only one person
Texaspumper · 61-69, M
I agree with you. Sometimes you just have to please yourself. 😘
