Man, moving sucks. Anyone want to help me move next week?

I'd help if I could!!! Believe me, I really would. Moving is one of life's most all around draining experiences. I know!

I did it alone at the age of 71, after being illegally evicted from my apartment of 28 years, while I was sick, in the midst of surgeries, no help available, no vehicle, no drivers license, moved 60 miles into a rented room, major downsizing still going on.

Some suggestions: Do it a little at a time if possible. Take breaks. Take vitamins and drink water. Get enough sleep. Label boxes so you'll know what to unpack first. Throw away anything you really can live without.

Good luck and best wishes in your new place!
Sounds harsh, greengirl. I wish you strength and peace. And you are kind too. Wow.

@PoetryNEmotion: I like my new town. And I finally got all my stuff out of storage and piled up the boxes in my new room. I'm sorting through it all slowly but surely. Good luck on your move. It'll be good in the long run.

@greenmountaingal: Aw. I find it sad that you had to move out of your apartment. Especially since you were going through a lot of things. But if you love your new place then that's great. I'm sure there's really nice things if it's a town or city. Like old stores and buildings (you're lucky if you have a candy shop there by the way).

@KandiGhostcat: I went from noisy dangerous smoggy Hollywood to a small desert community in San Bernardino County. I have a pool where I live (though not heated). I'm driving again. Got stuff out of storage and sorting through piled up boxes. This proves that with sufficient determination, you can survive nearly anything.

@KandiGhostcat: Oh, yeah, there are two terrific old fashioned candy shops in this area!
