People who smoke in front of kids sicken me.

It's one thing to put your own health at risk, but putting a child at risk for cancer or other health conditions because of your questionable life decisions? No.

"Put your own health at risk"? I would say "slowly kill yourself"

That's better.

I had to deal with this for several years in my life with a step father. I stayed away as often as possible and kept door shut. I believe he's still alive though after all these years
I've heard stories of smokers outliving their loved ones who died because of their secondhand smoke. Sad is the only way I can describe it. Sad.
I understand your problem with this. I really do. Personally, the smell of cigs makes me instantly sick to my stomach, raises my blood pressure and gives me a headache.
I grew up with a smoker, he smoked in the car. I spent a lot of time in the car. Every weekend was a 16 hour drive to nowhere and back home again. Usually for coffee in a small town and then home again. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones, but, I'm fine.
People who smoke around kids don't sicken me. Smoking however, does.
I consider smoking around children a form of child abuse, and many countries do legally consider it to be abuse, so that's why it sickens me. You were definitely lucky, but a lot of children aren't lucky, and they lose their lives because of it. Approximately 53,800 people die each year from secondhand smoke exposure. 53,800 lives lost because of someone else's bad decision. Smoking, on one hand, destroys you, but smoking in front of someone else means you're dragging another life down with you. That isn't fair. That isn't fair at all.
I think its fine to smoke in front of your kids outside.
It's not like smoke just disappears when you're outside. It's dangerous to smoke in front of children in any setting. Even having smoke residue on clothing, carpets, etc. (third-hand smoke) can be a health risk to babies and children.

When it comes to health reasons I don't see an issue smoking outside... But ask yourself this.... What kind of example am I setting for my children?

It's gross.....and as a non-smoker I can vouch for this, it does effect you. (I was married to an ashtray)

You're a dumbass. To put it more eloquently, pretty much all reputable health professionals would disagree with that statement. If you smoke in front of a child, you are abusing them plain and simple.

I'm a smoker and I don't smoke when kids are around. If I really need a cigarette I'll go to another facility or area.
