Is it better to be an atheist than a hypocrite ?

Pope Francis has delivered another criticism of some members of his own church , suggesting it was better to be an atheist than one of many Catholics who he said lead a hypocritical double life.

In improvised comments in the sermon of his private morning mass in his residence, he said: “It is a scandal to say one thing and do another. That is a double life."

He said some of these people should also say “‘my life is not Christian, I don’t pay my employees proper salaries, I exploit people, I do dirty business, I lead a double life’.”

Less than two months after his election, he said Christians should see atheists as good people if they do good.

As an atheist I think he's the best ever pope, he does seem to be full of love and not a paedophile or a war criminal

lol .......as another atheist I feel much the same way about him.

@pezzza: He's very challenging to others around him and in many quarters he's having a backlash, think too many are worried about their cushy lifestyle being taken away.
Like the fact he's down to earth, trying to shed the perks of the job, not afraid to address terrible things that have happened in the Catholic church in the past, hope he sticks around

@ajoite: Well he's young enough , and I don't imagine they have a mechanism for removing a Pope , so hopefully he will keep speaking out as and when he sees fit for a long time yet.
