That was a day
Driving my man to the airport yesterday morning the radio was full of the results from the mid term elections. He was flying to Washington to take up a new job there. Seems America is going to be a very different place politically than he was initially expecting. He was checking for about the 100th time that he had all the right bits of paper with his passport when he said "I really wish you could come too".
He's back at Thanksgiving and through December before moving over for good in January if everything comes together. Given my kids ages, situation regarding their care jointly with my ex, my new job etc. It's a complete non starter me emigrating too.
I drove back as he started his flight. A friend phoned to congratulate me on passing a year sober. I picked up my year's chip and there was chocolate caramel cake at my home group Monday. But this friend is working in Turkey so missed it.
Today I feel disconnected from the world like I not taking in what is happening.
