So yesterday's socializing was quite different but I met some interesting people. What do you feel about it?
So yesterday I was in Kammanahalli and HRBR Layout area of our city Bangalore in India which is more cosmopolitan and has expats from several African nations, the Middle East and Korea. So yesterday too most of my interactions happened with foreign men instead of many women. At first when walking around CMR University, I literally talked with this guy from the African country Chad. He is a student from that University. Even though we didn't talk a lot, it was really cool because meeting someone from Chad is very rare for me. Then I went to this Middle East style restaurant famous for Mandi and Madfoon. I had a chicken Madfoon there which is a Yemeni dish but as it was raining, I was stuck in the restaurant waiting for the rain to stop. Then suddenly this older man from Saudi started saying something to me in some other language smiling while he too was waiting on the waiting area couch. I didn't understand what he meant but eventually I came to know that he was telling how much it was raining. Then I asked him where he is from and he is actually from Saudi. I then suddenly responded "Oh wow Saudi? Thats nice and I enjoy meeting people from different countries and cultures". He then nodded and as the rain stopped, I came out.
Sadly due to the rainy weather, I didn't find many people to socialize with until I went to this juice shop and initiated conversation with a pair of Arab men there. One of them is from Yemen and another one from Saudi. I socialized saying I am an MBA graduate trying to meet new people and said them hello. At first the Yemeni dude asked whether I wanted something but the Saudi guy understood that I was just trying to socialize and he said him "He is just trying to say Hello". Then we talked. They are actually working in Bangalore now and are also living long term enough that they were having their own scooter here and they are around my age mostly and I am 25 and shared about MBA being done. I asked their names and they asked mine. When I said my name, the Saudi guy asked "Ohh are you Hindu by the way?" and I said yes that I am Hindu and Bengali and you all won't believe the Saudi guy actually said "Jay shree ram" for real(Indian users here will know Jay Shree ram but yeah it means Hail to Lord Rama). I didn't expect it at all and I never said him to say that. He just said it when I answered that I am a Hindu and then we had bro-style handshakes and fist bumps. So yeah this was my solid interaction. Later while going to the Kalyan Nagar bus stop to take a bus back to East Bangalore where my home is, I greeted another foreign man and he is actually from Russia. Yeah it was very brief as we were going somewhere but yeah he said hello back with a handshake and I asked him which country he is from and he said Russia and then we continued walking. Didn't expect to meet a Russian at all in that Kammanahalli/Kalyan Nagar area.
