An absolutely hilarious chatbot response.

Honestly, the fact that you can tell 1863 is smaller than 1879 without a calculator is already putting you ahead of a lot of people in that scenario. The chatbot kids are the ones who can't tell you which number is smaller.

For context, the discussion was about Canada and US Thanksgiving and which came first. Canada wins regarding the initial events. The U.S. wins, regarding making it an official holiday. The interesting thing is when it gave those two years stated above, it claimed Canada won when the US declared in 1863 under Abraham Lincoln. So the chatbot made a mistake too. I looked right at it and corrected. That one resulting to the quote above. After I said I'm glad I'm not a kid relying on chatbots to get through school, I'd fail for sure.

I heard somewhere that Thanksgiving was taken from the original Indian tradition called potlatch.

@Adrift not being sure how to reply to that, I had to dwell and return to my conversation that brought about the quote above. Here is the continued answer

A potlatch is a winter wealth-redistribution ceremony from the Pacific Northwest Coast — not a harvest thanksgiving. Different region, different purpose, different season. The broader point about Indigenous harvest traditions being erased from the narrative is fair, but "taken from potlatch" is not what happened.
