So today's socializing which also led to a different situation. What do you feel about it?
So at first in this shopping mart in Brigade road of our city Bangalore in India, i initiated conversation with a pair of expat women from the US. They were both actually a lot older than me like 40s to 50s and I am 25 but yeah we talked. They are from Chicago. You all won't believe but when I said I am just socializing with new people, they literally laughed and said "That's nice. You can socialize with us". So we talked a lot. They were short term expats on a work assignment for only a week. They shared about their work like them being in an insurance company, their experience in Bangalore, me talking about my MBA and also lots of laughs for real. It was one of my smoothest interaction with older women and honestly these are the interactions which improves my calibration and increases my exposure to diverse people.
Then in courtyard area of Church Street, there were vendors selling dresses and other stuffs in stalls and I initiated conversation with a pair of British women. This time they were more around my age. Very attractive women. They were also short term expats who were on work assignment. Very bubbly women and I was talking full confidently with them but as it happened in Church Street, I got several stares and a man even stopped walking and kept staring at me as I was socializing with those women. I eventually ended the interaction saying have a great day. But the man who was staring suddenly came to me and said you were socializing right and i said yes but suddenly he started saying his story that he lost his job since Covid pandemic so he doesn't have money.
I've had a few men saying that in the Indiranagar metro station and showing Linkedin page that they are unemployed since 2020 due to layoff during Covid and eventually asking me money so yeah I said him I am job searching too and completed MBA quite recently thinking he won't ask for money but then he suddenly shared a number of a person and said to call him and that he will give me a job. He said he also got this number yesterday and was said to send him his resume so he said me to try it. Okay I saved the number and then we kept walking till Lavelle road and he said his story like he is a college dropout and he dropped out back in 2003-2004 and now he is 42 years old. He also asked about me like my MBA and all but suddenly he insisted me to call that number right now. I was hesitant and idk whether the number is a scam or anything strange or not but he kept saying me to call the number in front of him if I want a job now but I didn't and walked away and crossed the road. Actually he crossed the road first and was waiting for me to cross and kept saying me to call the number but I was walking away. He was following me saying me to call the number but I went inside the Smoor Cafe and he then stopped and went away. Idk what was that but yeah.
