Is it normal to have such awkward moment especially with older women? Be honest.

So yesterday in Araku Coffee of Indiranagar area of our city Bangalore in India, while having a coffee I remember initiating conversation with this foreign expat woman. I thought she was a stranger so I used the same line "Just saying Hi to new people and trying to socialize as its the weekend". But she said that we already talked and I already said her all that 2 weeks ago in Church Street. I wasn't able to recognize her face as I just talk to so many people that sometimes I forget faces. So yeah I said I am unable to remember but she laughed and said that we talked that day. It felt awkward. She is mostly in her late 30s to 40s and I am 25. But yeah I then kinda recognized and I think she is one of the American women I spoke with 2 weeks ago in that bookstore in Church Street but before I could talk about it, the barista came with my coffee and I had to ask them for the sugar sachet so yeah the interaction was paused and that woman asked the barista for a sachet for herself too and went back to having her coffee. After that it felt too awkward for me to reinitiate the interaction and explain about my last interaction. She wasnt angry. She smiled and laughed but I was worried whether it looked weird or awkward. I just kept silently having my coffee and left and reinitiating felt harder. Has something like this happen to you too before?

But yeah things bounced back after I went to 1MG Lido mall of Trinity area where I socialized with a German flight attendant on Lufthansa airlines on the escalator. Then entered Church Street area and in the Third Wave Coffee, I initiated with a group of 6 German men and women. It was a fun interaction. They were 20 somethings too and have been in Bangalore for 9 months for some volunteering work. Mainly this one woman and one man spoke with me. Funny moment was when I misheard one of their names as Shawn and I jokingly asked "Oh so you are Shawn Mendes?" and others laughed while he corrected saying its John. Then I also commented on their pizza saying it looked yummy. And then in the same Cafe I socialized with an Indian woman too who even validated it saying that its a great thing when I shared I am just trying to meet new people when done with MBA. Sweet woman but she was on laptop so had to keep it short. Then in Church Street itself, I socialized with this African man from Nigeria. It was a brief interaction but damn he was so tall and I am like 176-178 cm tall. Then in this Bookstore, I talked with these 2 bubbly Indian women and then had an unexpected bump-in with this Chinese man whom I met like 9-10 months ago in the metro. He is actually of Chinese origin but was born and bought up in Kolkata city of India and now working in Bangalore. We both were surprised by the bump-in and talked a lot. Last time when we met he said he was 30 casually so I guess he is 31 now or maybe still 30 depending on his birthday. Crazy tho and we talked a lot.

Then later on after spending some time in UB City mall, I met this woman on Vittal Mallya road near the mall and she is actually from Canada but she is of Chinese origin. Even though it wasn't a long one, it was so interesting to see how diverse the world is and also how multicultural Canada is. Then after having some coffee in Starbucks, I returned back to Church Street again and in this ice cream Cafe, I talked with 2 older French women who are in their 40s to 50s likely. They were so energetic even at their age and talking to me with full energy and excitement which genuinely surprised me for real. Then in the Blossom Bookhouse, I had brief micro-interactions with several Indian women and then had a smooth transition with an American man who is a tourist. Yeah he is a tourist and he was browsing the bookstore and we had a good conversation and he also mentioned how much he is liking the bookstore and the city too. Overall a good social day even if many were brief interactions.
