Apartment opportunity
The housing authority called me today about an apartment opportunity. I have to turn in some paperwork this week, and I’ll most likely accept it. It’s in a different city, which means potentially starting over somewhere completely new.
Honestly, I’m nervous and scared. I have no idea what my life is going to look like living on my own. For so long, I’ve lived around other people, dealt with roommates, recovery environments, drama, noise, and everything that comes with never really having a place that feels like mine.
I’ve spent so much time saying I want a fresh start, peace, independence, and a chance to rebuild my life. Now that opportunity might actually be here, and it’s scary as hell.
I don’t know what’s waiting for me on the other side of this move. I don’t know if I’ll feel lonely, relieved, bored, free, or all of it at once. But maybe this is finally a chance to find out who I am when I’m not constantly surrounded by other people and their problems.
I’m scared of the unknown, but I’m also tired of living the same life. Maybe it’s time I take the risk and see what happens.
