Well done for actually identifying your problem and then determining your course of action. I know that sounds very simple but many can’t do it.
Sounds like there are now lots of opportunities in front of you.
All the best in capitalising on them and benefiting from your and your daughters new growth.

@nowic2 its scary but exciting
nowic2 · 61-69, M
@IceQueen88 yes, I imagine it is very scary. But clearly you can see change needs to happen. I get the impression you have a bit of a mental sketch regarding how the change(s) will happen.
I hope they way exceed your hopes.
All the best on your journey to a better, happier life for you and your daughter.

IceQueen88 · F

Birdbox1986 · 31-35, F

You don’t need more people. You need better quality people, and that might be only one person rather than 100 people. You can love and respect and honor your mother without kicking her out of your life.
lindsgibbers · 41-45, F
Do exactly what is right for your mental health and all the while keeping your conscience clean your mom will just have to deal with the truth sooner or later.
You had these realizations before as well, what happened about them?
Still same.
I don't understand why people blame others or situations instead of themselves for not doing what needs to be done.
How immature of you to call your mom toxic. That's simply being a mother.
You are a mother to a daughter, let's see how that turns out for you.
What if your daughter calls you toxic?
Still same.

I think you should have a conversation with your mother in order to explain how you feel unless you feel like it's totally pointless and she won't listen a single word. People deserve a second chance but i don't even know the current state of your relationship with your mother. Life is short so you gotta take decisions that make you happy and improve your mental health.

@CloudDweller I've tried having conversations with her but she dismisses my feeling and tells me i imagine things or its all in my head. She doesn't believe in mental health even when i got diagnosed with depression in junior high she didn't think it was real and said it's a mind set thing and i just need to think happy thoughts and get over it.
