Do you know why she probably laughed like that at me?
So in UB City mall of our city Bangalore in India, I have been going to this Cafe named Cafe Zaara for the past 1 year pretty frequently. So as I have been a regular, the male staff is cool with me and often makes me new coffee or non-coffee drinks. We even sometimes talk about stuffs but yeah every time I visit there, he makes something completely different and I don't have to choose anything from the menu. I go there, he asks "Hey bro. How are you? What should I make today?" and I say "Something I will have". Sometimes he will joke "Should I make something or just nothing?" He also gives me discount nowadays as I am a known customer now. He is also a young man somewhere in his 20s and I am 25 and he is also from the West Bengal state which is also my hometown state as its Siliguri in West Bengal but I am living here in Bangalore since 2008. At first he was surprised that I was a Bengali and used to think that I was a South Indian maybe a local Kannadiga or a Telugu person. He immediately switched to talking in Bengali with me. But in this post, I will share about this female barista. Even though the Cafe has been there for over a year, this female barista also somewhere in her early to mid 20s has been working there for only 5-6 months. She is mostly from the North East states of India. She also had been observing the banter between me and the male staff especially the "Should I make something or nothing?", him mistaking my MBA as MBBS degree as he asks whether I am becoming a doctor soon and also how he gives me discount and that I go to the Cafe once every week.
I didn't really talk with her as mainly the male staff talks to me but something crazy happened 2 weeks ago. I sat in the Cafe and next to my table was an older woman from Belgium sitting who was mostly middle aged and I talked with her a bit and she is tourist and eventually wished her a happy journey. In general, I tend to have a more smiley face and in Cafe Zaara due to the familiarity with the staffs, I smile more. So when the female barista served me the juice, I was already having a smiley face and she suddenly began laughing hard while looking at me. I was surprised but as it felt like a funny situation, I began laughing too. She suddenly gave a full-on laugh for real. I didn't expect it. She then went back to the counter area while laughing. Yesterday something happened. I was in UB City again but didn't go to their Cafe and was just walking around in the open-air courtyard of the mall. She suddenly came out in the courtyard and going somewhere. She looked at me and I automatically made a smiley face and she was about to laugh again. I couldn't control and began laughing lightly and she was too while walking and kinda trying to hold her laugh too while walking to wherever she was going. We didn't talk but yeah. It was funny for real haha. I am not sure why this happening but this definitely made UB City mall feel more fun hehe.
