Oh wow I was surprised she didn't know Siliguri for real. What do you feel about it?
So today in the Third Wave Coffee cafe in Koramangala area of our city Bangalore in India, I initiated conversation with this woman. She is actually from Tibet and she shared that she is basically in Bangalore for vacations as one of her family lives here. So yeah we were talking. Btw as my hometown Siliguri in West Bengal in India and the Darjeeling side has many Tibetan refugees, I told her that my hometown is Siliguri thinking she will instantly recognize it but she then suddenly asked "Is it in Karnataka too?"(Karnataka is the state where I live where Bangalore is the capital city). That's surprised me so much haha as Tibet is much closer to Siliguri than to Bangalore. I explained her that it's in West Bengal state of India and many Tibetans live there too.
Then we both shared about many things, I shared about my MBA, she shared about her work etc. We both complained about the rains too as it's a really drizzle day today in Bangalore haha. Overall tho an amazing unexpected interaction. She is a cute woman too hehe. But the only highlight of the interaction is she didn't recognize Siliguri haha as i genuinely expected many Tibetans to know about that Darjeeling side as a whole haha. But it's okay. It was nice explaining her about my hometown and how yummy the momos there are. What do you feel about it?
