Had to give any work a miss today

My period makes me extremely depressed. Everything I try to compartmentalise comes to the forefront. It's not ideal. I struggle to manage anyone else's emotions because of it as hard as I try. It wouldn't be fair on them.

It takes a hit at my immune system too. I get a fever every single time. Think I'll just bedrot and cry today lol

Take care of yourself ...being a woman sucks at times
Ngl, having the coil fitted fixed 9/10 problems

Took 30+ years of period issues for someone to say I shouldnt be going through all that every month.

Feel better. Look after yourself as you need.
@0uijaFinger how did it help? like did it stop the periods altogether or make them less heavier?
@HijabaDabbaDoo I bleed for a day once every 3-4 months, and even then it's light. My migraines have all but gone - they would last a week the week before I was due, now they're just dehydration. I dont have pain. My moods arent turbulent. I dont want to cry as much. It took around 3 months to settle. It did hurt to have it put in, and I was told to take paracetamol 🙄. It felt the same as having an internal scan.
I cramped for a week and then just waited for my period to change.

My sister has epilepsy and it was suggested to her after she had my niece, to help with her hormones. Her seizures are due to hormone changes and lack of sleep. It settled her straight away and when she wanted another baby, she had it removed and conceived quickly. Obviously she was heavily monitored. 6 weeks after my nephew was born, they replaced it.
@0uijaFinger wtf, suggesting paracetamol for pain is ridiculous. That barely touches a headache nevermind a fitted coil. Glad it's helped with everything else.

I'm kinda scared to consider anything like this because I started my period super late and for half of it they were irregular, now they're pretty consistent but I do worry about future fertility issues so I don't wanna mess with it just in case I want kids

My seizures get worse when I'm on my period too, that's because anxiety is one of the triggers and that definitely spikes. I usually end up sleeping more than usual because of the fatigue. Was she allowed epidural when she gave birth because I got told I wouldn't be because of risks should I want any. It's wild.

I guess it's something I need to discuss with the doctors again but the NHS is disappointing and they've already been negligent with my epilepsy in the past and basically ignored the hormonal side of things.
