This is the worst thing that could have happened right now... ๐Ÿ˜”

My partner and I have been going to some specific fields for years, and there's a little shed there, owned by someone we don't know. We often sit on the bench outside the shed and eat breakfast that we bring oirselves. This place had become like a second home to us, even though it technically belongs to someone, but up until now there has never been a problem.

A while ago, we noticed that the lock on the door to the shed had been cut, and I thought there's a small chance it might be the owner himself who lost his key, but it did looke like it had been broken into.

Today, there was a message in white paint on the door to the shed. In the message he said that he would shoot the thief and cut off his hands, so my partner and I decided to leave.

I am thinking about leaving a note, telling him that my partner and I have been coming there from time to time for a couple years now, that we are not the thief and have never been inside the shed. That we come there to walk our dog and ask for his permission to keep doing so. We'd leave a gift, like a nice bottle of liqueur and some chocolate, though it might get stolen. ๐Ÿ˜†

We have noticed that other, less desirable people (aside from the thief, unless it's the same people), come there too, since someone broke a fence that a young vine was climbing on, last year.

The thing is it's not safe. With everything happening today, he could easily be some crazy ex soldier with PTSD who owns firearms and will actually shoot us if he sees us. I would've say there's a 50/50 chance the man is unstable, but I just can't lose this place now. It's everything keeping me sane since we had to move again, it's more familiar than the apartment I live in.

I noticed that he doesn't keep up the place (it's a small fruit plantage), so I thought we could offer to help him out in return for him allowing us to be there. In reality it's probably too dangerous to ever go back, I'm just so sad because I have no other place to truly relax. My daily walk in the fields was the last stable thing left in my life. ๐Ÿ˜”
