The real reason why the Madikeri style Pork kinda make me nostalgic today. Do you have similar memories with any food too?

So today I went to this Coorg style restaurant in Koramangala area of our city Bangalore in India. I ate the Madikeri style Pork with rice there. So Madikeri is a hill town in Karnataka state of India and Coorg is the name for the entire Kodagu region of Karnataka which includes Madikeri as well and it's around 250 km from our city Bangalore. That region is popular for its Pork dishes. I went there twice with family but never had pork as my family(we are Bengali from Siliguri but living in Bangalore for many years) doesn't eat Pork at all. In fact Pork isn't a staple diet in most of India except some South Indian region, a few scattered regions and in the North East part of the country. But for the past 2-3 years I have been eating Pork dishes whenever I am solo. Yes since I joined MBA, I have been experimenting with Pork dishes a lot but only if alone as Pork is quite niche here in the country and my parents and all don't eat them too and mainly prefers chicken, fish and sometimes mutton(goat meat) even though Pork isn't prohibited in Hinduism and we mainly don't eat beef and cow is sacred for us.

But yeah today the Madikeri Pork felt so good but also made me nostalgic. That's because 2 years ago during my MBA, I used to often visit the Vinu Coorg Pork Hotel in Bommanahalli area of our city not too far from our campus in Electronic City. They make authentic Coorg/Kodagu style Pork and i especially liked their Pork Biryani. I remember sometimes even ordering on food delivery app Zomato the Pork Biryani to my campus during lunch and as almost no one in our campus ate pork, they got curious, some laughed, some even asked "Tu suar khaata hai?" in Hindi language which means "you eat pig?", some even gave me "Pork Biryani" as a nickname haha but no one was offended really as long as there was no beef. So yeah it was fun and some even made jokes about my pork eating habit. Today tho I was all alone there at 25 and sadly the Pork Biryani in this Koramangala restaurant wasnt available so had to eat the Madikeri style Pork with rice. It was yummy but no one to call me "Pork Biryani" or make jokes today and I ate alone so yeah felt nostalgic. Here is the video of the pork dish I ate
