The reason why I got nostalgic and slightly jealous watching some of his vlogs. What do you feel about it?
So there is an Indian travel vlogger on Youtube with a channel named "Nomadic Indian" whose vlogs I have been watching recently. He often travels across the world actually and he is 32 years old now. Even though he is from Bhiwani in Haryana state of Northern India, he has been to so many countries but the vlogs which are interesting me are the North Eastern region of India. So my hometown is Siliguri in West Bengal of India which is the gateway to North East but living in the city Bangalore in India since 2008 so his videos in the North East and Siliguri corridor are making me nostalgic but also a bit jealous. Thats because he was showing his vlogs in Manipur state of India, showed the highway which takes to Myanmar from Moreh which further takes us to even Thailand by road. I felt jealous because even though my hometown is Siliguri, I haven't even been to the North East 7 sisters states except Assam as a kid. Him exploring Moreh, the last place in India before Myanmar starts made me wish I could explore it too and he even found a South Indian community there who are Tamils which surprised me as Tamil Nadu state is so far from Manipur and I know it as I live in Bangalore which is in the South Indian state Karnataka right near Tamil Nadu. But his vlog about Siliguri corridor also called the chicken's neck made me more nostalgic.
Siliguri corridor is the narrow strip of land in West Bengal state which connects mainland India to the North Eastern part of India and its surrounded by Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Tibet. So he was exploring it too. Its very close to my hometown Siliguri so yeah I never visited the corridor itself even though my hometown is Siliguri but this dude who is from Haryana visited it. He was even showing in the video the proximity to Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan. Its crazy how he even went to Fulbari which is at outskirts of Siliguri and I have been there too during my annual visits to my hometown. He has also been to Teen Bigha corridor which is another strip of land in West Bengal on border with Bangladesh and he explored it too and its also so close to Jalpaiguri. I have been to Jalpaiguri district but never been to Teen Bigha corridor. So yeah I am jealous as whenever I visit Siliguri annually once, I go with parents so when with parents, I obviously can't explore around like a solo traveller like Nomadic Indian even though I am 25 now. But I am also feeling very nostalgic as my last visit to Siliguri was in Sept 2024 so its been nearly 2 years already. I am missing the vibes of it and also how I explore around the airports like Bangalore Airport, Kolkata's airport and the Bagdogra Airport, visiting beautiful Dooars places and the hill stations of North Bengal and just want a 2 weeks break there and then return to Bangalore with a fresh mind. So yeah his videos literally made me feel like home especially that slow paced vibe of North Bengal and the sounds of those electric Toto Rickshaws there and you feel how close it is to the foothills of Eastern Himalayas and has international borders like Bhutan, Nepal etc. What do you feel?
