So today for the first time I had a proper conversation with a Tibetan monk. What do you feel about it?

So today in Church Street area of our city Bangalore in India, I saw these 2 Tibetan monks in saffron robes. I said in one of my posts that they remind me of my hometown Siliguri as it's close to the Eastern Himalayan foothills and has many Tibetans there. So previously I have seen these Tibetan monks in both UB City mall and Church Street in Bangalore but most were just me greeting them but today I had a proper conversation with them. So I asked him where he is from and he said they are Tibetan. I then asked him "Where do they live?" which might sound awkward but this was my first time speaking to a monk so it happened. He said some name of a monastery which I couldn't hear properly due to my earphones so idk whether they are from Bylakuppe in Karnataka state of India just 217 km from Bangalore where there is a Tibetan population or whether they are from a Monastery in Bangalore itself or whether they are from Bhutan or Eastern Himalayan regions or Dharamshala.

But I also said him that my hometown is Siliguri so he answered "Ohh Shiliguri?" Yeah he pronounced Siliguri that way. I said yes. Eventually we ended the interaction saying each other have a great day. His English was honestly quite decent. He reminded me of Siliguri too especially Salugara Monastery area and that trip to Phuentsholing at border of Bhutan in 2017. My last visit to Siliguri was Sept 2024 so it's been really long. There was some calmness too while talking to him surprisingly even in a pedestrian Street like Church Street with so much foot traffic. In my previous visits to Siliguri and North Bengal from age 16 to 23, the monks were just background for me but today at 25 I finally had a proper conversation with one.
