Which one of the songs do you like more?
So both the songs are from the 2012 Bollywood movie Cocktail with actor Saif Ali Khan and actresses Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty. Suddenly both the songs are being used again in Instagram stories and reels likely because a sequel to the movie named Cocktail 2 has been released just last month. So the first song is Tum Hi Ho Bandhu. This song definitely makes me nostalgic now as I remember hearing this all around in 2012-2013. In 2013 when I was in 8th grade, our school took us to a trip to the Country Club at Mysore Road at outskirts of our city Bangalore in India and also took us to nearby places like Channapatna(famous for wooden toys) and Janapadaloka. So they played this song in the bus and many were dancing including this girl Srishti too who was in the same grade as me but we weren't classmates. Sadly I was too shy near girls so obviously we didn't talk. I remember in new year of 2023 suddenly this song playing in our car and I suddenly remembered Srishti. I was 22 at the time and messaged her on Instagram. She responded and knew that we were in the same school and same grade but wasn't fully comfortable I guess as we barely even talked in school and the chats eventually faded and she ghosted me. But the song itself feels so energetic and reminds me of that Country Club and Channapatna trip. Now at 25, I feel so nostalgic hearing it because I remember hearing in school summer vacations of 2012 and 2013.
This 2nd song is Daaru Desi. This song especially gives me goosebumps these days. This one has this cool relaxed vacation vibe and even the music video shows a playful vibe between Saif Ali Khan, Diana Penty and Deepika Padukone. This song also reminds me of that train journey tho from our city Bangalore to my hometown Siliguri in West Bengal state. I remember the train was the Bangalore-Guwahati express by which we used to travel to Siliguri before 2017 after which we started going there in flight. Yes the train used to go from Bangalore all the way to Guwahati which is a city in Assam state of India. The train journeys used to take 2-3 days. I remember it was 21st December 2013 when I was in 8th grade and just next day was my 13th birthday. But the train was delayed(which happens quite often in Indian Railways) and it was taking forever to reach New Jalpaiguri(NJP) railway station of Siliguri and I couldn't wait to eat momos. Then suddenly someone was playing this song Daaru Desi in the train and damn my mood become much better for real and I felt relaxed and in no time we finally reached NJP station. Now whenever I hear it anywhere, I remember that train journey and obviously the cold winter weather there. So hear these both songs and say which one you like more
