I just need a nice long walk in the woods, away from the never ending political fighting, just me and nature.

Just a long drive in the country in a scenic area does it for me...I need to go to the lake this weekend if the weather is nice...ought to go ahead and get my fishing license while I'm at it but it's probably gonna be too windy.
fish definitely wont bite in windy weather. looking forward to warm weather and catching some fish as well.

@MisterClean254: I hate being out in the wind even if they did bite. We got a lot of snakes around the lake, pygmy rattlesnakes hiding in the retaining rocks around the edges and copperheads too I am very leery of fishing near there in warm weather....fished off the pier last summer.
i fish off the pier alot. definitely have to watch out for snakes. we have alot of water mocassins around here.

@MisterClean254: yeah we have those here too...not too scared of them, we had cottonmouth snakes, a big cluster of them, in our spring-fed shallow creek on the farm. we'd play about 15 feet from them and the worst they did was open their mouths all at the same time to warn us to stay back away from them. There's only two fishing piers on this side of the lake and we used to have big fishing marina to go inside in the winter...had to pay a little bit of money but you could bring food & drinks and stay all day if you wanted to and it sheltered you from the wind. A tornado came through and hit the lake a few years ago and destroyed the marina and they only put in a new dock and store and no fishing marina...I really liked that one too. You could catch fish when they were biting...saw one young guy lose his rod and reel one time when he caught a big fish and wasn't watching it.
where you from??

@MisterClean254: central Oklahoma
that would explain the tornado LOL we have em here, nothing compared to how many yall have though.

They usually skip over my city or get pulled up north of here to Moore, especially those EF-5 tornado. We did have one rain-wrapped storm that dropped a tornado on this city and did some damage, nobody died and no injuries. The last few skipped over the city and then drop down east of town. One did really bad damage in the rural areas east of the city, took many months to get it cleaned up. This one went to the lake and became a waterspout and did damages.
