Do you feel some people might see me as similar to Tapu Sena?
Indian users will know who Tapu Sena is but I will still explain as many are westerners here. So there is an Indian show named Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah(TMKOC) which has been running since 2008. The show used to be a comedy show but now they messed it up. The show's heart is Jethalal(played by Dilip Joshi) and its set in Mumbai, India in a housing society named Gokuldham Society. So I will come straight to the point of Tapu Sena. So Tapu is the son of Jethalal and Tapu sena is Tapu's group of friends. There are 5 of them in the friends group- Tapu, Goli, Gogi, Pinku and Sonu. Tapu is Gujarati, Goli is North Indian, Gogi is Punjabi, Pinku is probably North Indian too and Sonu who is the only girl in the group is Marathi. So when the show started, these 5 were kids like me too(yeah we all grew into adults with time) but now they are full adults who are like 25-28 year olds and I am 25 too so in my age group but they had zero character development. The actor of Tapu changed twice and the current actor Nitish Bhaluni is really bad and the actor of Sonu changed thrice and the actor of Goli changed too.
When they were kids, it looked natural and they were even shown doing brave things but nowadays they just became cringe. So they did their 10th grade board exams in 2015 as shown in the show but since then no updates. For 11 years we don't even know whether they fully graduated yet. Yes Tapu was shown having done an MBA but all 5 are unemployed. They just spend their time in Gokuldham society either playing cricket(that to with under-arm bowling) or playing indoor games like pool within the housing society's clubhouse or are shown making decorations during festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi or Navratri and the show doesn't even show any young adult struggles, no dating or anything within them. Their parents aren't shown saying them anything about getting a job and even they aren't shown worrying about job and are just wasting time in Gokuldham doing cringe things. They are in their mid to late 20s but are still shown as acting really immature. No talks about future or career and I don't see them stressed about it at all. Sonu was shown as ambitious but even they spoiled her personality too. Gogi is the most immature of them all whereas Goli always only talks about eating and Pinku barely had any lines.
But Tapu Sena also gets trolled online as nalla especially as they are unemployed and doesn't care about it and only playing games in Gokuldham and acting cringe and also making really horrible rap songs. So I also worry whether I am also being seen as similar now at 25 because I am done with my MBA very recently and myself job searching. It seems like these online people are mocking every unemployed person. But I am actively trying to get a job, getting screening calls, applying daily, having interviews but still getting ghosted which is frustrating. I have been searching literally for an year as whole although my MBA itself fully got over 7 months ago. Also as it gets frustrating in home and even mom often questions about it and compares me, i do go out twice or thrice every week to Central areas of our city Bangalore in India and at times socialize with others too especially women including foreigners and explore around so I wonder some sees me similar to Tapu sena as well as wasting time even though I am applying for jobs and just going out to feel socially alive and avoid isolation and feeling frustrated and burnouts in home and I am doing it solo. What do you feel?
