Damn this is another song which made me nostalgic. Does it make you nostalgic too?
So as you all know this song is Light It Up by Major Lazer released in Nov 2015 and was very popular in 2015-2017 actually. So yeah another song which I heard around a lot especially when I was 15-18. This song gives me feeling of as if I am in some big mall. I remember as a teenager, malls felt so different as it felt like a break from that school environment where I was bullied a lot. I remember going there in malls and even smaller marts like More Megastore or Big Bazaar in our city Bangalore in India with parents or with my mom and her friend and eating in the KFC there. This song has that vibe of a vibrant colorful mall and a fast food place in the mall. Crazy tho how even Big Bazaar or More Megastore felt so big to me at the time and I used to feel as if I was a cool boy and was content with those places whereas nowadays I visit luxury malls in our city Bangalore like UB City mall and also 1MG Lido mall. And I don't go to these malls just to eat but also to socialize especially with women and many times with foreign women who are expats, tourists, flight attendants etc. I wonder whether this song still fits the vibe in the current malls or not. Now I am 25 and definitely felt goosebumps and nostalgic hearing it. Its crazy how this song was everywhere in 2016 but now in 2026 I haven't heard it being played in any Cafe or mall or any venues here. Its crazy that Cheap Thrills by Sia is still played in so many venues here and so is Shape Of You by Ed Sheeran and also some Justin Bieber tracks but this song isn't. Its like it was only popular in 2016-2017 and suddenly with time its forgotten. Do you also feel nostalgic hearing it?
