Do you feel I always had an exploration mindset?
So recently I have posted about exploring around my city Bangalore in India, noticing rare cars and even socially exploring by initiating conversations with women including foreign women. Even these small moments like seeing a Swahili-speaking African woman or a German woman knowing slight Bengali felt so interesting or talking with flight attendants about Lufthansa or Boeing 747 and which all countries they went and also knowing about different countries from the foreigners feels interesting now at 25 and I mostly go out solo and do these. But this isn't a recent thing.
You all know my hometown is in Siliguri in West Bengal state of India and I used to visit there once every year but recently couldn't visit it due to home renovation work so the last time I visited there was in Sept 2024. But it isn't just about Siliguri. We often halted at Kolkata airport as we had to change flights and I remember at 16-23 age whenever we went there, in the Bangalore airport and Kolkata airport, I would walk around and explore the airport instead of just sitting. I will look around different things, the Cafes, restaurants and even observe foreigners. Yeah before 23, I wasn't talking to foreigners like I do now so they felt even more novel and different so yeah it felt like some kind of exploration too seeing foreigners around in the airport(I was a teenager mostly about 16-18 so don't judge). Also recently like in 2024 also tried noticing whether the airplane is an Airbus or a Boeing and tried to find the Boeing 747 but didn't find it on the runway. Also seeing the old house behind our Siliguri house also made me post it on Instagram as if I am doing some myth hunting saying how old the house is and almost in a questioning manner who lives there.
And it isn't just airport but also Manipal Hospital in our city Bangalore. Recently enough been there for my mom's regular checkup but I also explore around the hospital looking at different departments, pharmacy, the international lounge and also many international people from Africa and the middle east or Central Asia also comes to the hospital for medical tourism so yeah it feels so interesting to see them. Even had some brief conversations with some African people in the hospital recently and even waved at some Buddhist nuns in white robes in the hospital several months ago who are probably from South East Asia. They smiled and greeted back but we didn't talk. So yeah I just don't sit but I keep walking around and observing.
