The real reason why the Habanero car sound in GTA 5 makes me feel nostalgic. Does the sound make you nostalgic too?

So yeah GTA 5 gamers will know that each cars in the game has these fictional car names. But in this post I will talk about why the exhaust sound of the Habanero car from the game makes me nostalgic. That's because the sound of this car is so similar to the sound of the Toto Rickshaws from my hometown Siliguri in West Bengal state of India. Yes I was born in Siliguri but living in the city Bangalore in India. So toto rickshaws are basically electric rickshaws used to carry passengers which has replaced the older cycle rickshaws in many parts of India including Siliguri and are cheaper than auto rickshaws(which some people and foreigners call tuktuk) and taxis and they were introduced in around 2015. So yeah it makes me nostalgic now because Bangalore doesn't have toto rickshaws and it's a big city so people mostly travel by auto rickshaws, cabs, buses and metro or personal cars and there is already a lots of traffic jam in the city so toto rickshaws might cause more congestion and chaos. Whereas whenever I used to visit Siliguri with my parents for vacations since 2015, the calm electric sound of the toto rickshaws made me feel calm and vacation mood as Siliguri is a much more slower paced city compared to Bangalore.

We even travel by the Toto Rickshaw when we go there to Siliguri and even other parts of North Bengal. Even though Toto Rickshaws are in most parts of Northern, Central and Eastern India, Siliguri and North Bengal are my hometown region so obviously i will feel more nostalgic about those rickshaws from Siliguri. But the last time I visited Siliguri was in September 2024 and since then we haven't visited. That's because it was for my grandpa's 1st death anniversary and as both grandparents are dead, my uncle(dad's elder brother who is a doctor) is trying to build another floor in that house but that's taking forever. The construction started in early 2025 itself but now it's mid 2026 and they still aren't sure whether it will get over by Durga puja which is a major Bengali festival in October 2026 which means we might not be able to go there. So yeah now at 25 I feel nostalgic. I genuinely need a 2 weeks break to Siliguri, the Dooars region and hills of North Bengal as I feel burnout after this stressful job search phase as my MBA is done and I have been socializing quite a lot in Central areas of Bangalore but I need a real break for 2 weeks in Siliguri and then return back to Bangalore with better mood.

Bangalore has many electric cars, buses, scooters etc too and even Tesla came to India recently but nothing matches that slow paced feeling of Siliguri hearing the Toto Rickshaw sounds. So yeah while I play GTA 5 on my laptop with earphones on, the exhaust sound of the Habanero car in the game reminds me to the Toto Rickshaw sounds so much especially when driving the car in the countryside of the game as it matches the slow paced feeling of the North Bengal's Dooars region. Whats interesting is GTA 5 came out in 2013 so I wonder whether the Toto Rickshaw took the sound of the Habanero car in them as they introduced them in 2015 but it's just a theory by me haha. So here is a video of the Habanero car in GTA 5 which I found from YouTube so you can hear it for reference
