Why do most believers say you must fear God? Aren't they supposed to use the word "love" instead of "fear"?
How can you fear what is supposed to love you the most?

In smaller more primitive societies, God was kind. Connected to nature. These societies were smaller than today's. In smaller societies people are held more accountable in front of each other . In larger, more complex society, prone to mass disorder or large amount of lawlessness and crime, a god that was ever seeing omnipotent and feared was needed and was born. This way, when no one is looking, the fear of the punitive God was embedded in the people's consciousness and prevented them to act immoraly, or against the society.

The way it goes is rather: God is supposed to love us, people are supposed to fear God. People are supposed to rely on a god, and gods are threatening people.

@PiecingBabyFaceTogether nah but it isn't even out of the realm of possibility to engage like a friend lol. I sure do. Forever asking for forgiveness or leading with fear makes you feel stuck because you're then operating from a place of shame. I can't do that.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people I know offline including my best friend won't get it but it's not necessarily a bad thing. People are built different.

@NerdyPotato I really don't regret anything I don't blame myself for being human. Thanks for your concern I know you mean it 🫂. I actually typed a story pointing out to this change of heart of mine some time ago and you hearted it but I decided to delete it afterwards.
I actually want to tell you more privately. Like how it all happened etc because a year ago I'd call my current self and tell him wtf are you doing lol but the thing is I think I'm more comfortable now maybe less angry definitely not defeated. I could still be wrong but it's fine.
