The life cycle of friendships sucks.

You can tell when people get bored with you. The messages and conversations become shorter. The effort fades into obligatory check ins. The caring turns into not responding to feelings and personal things at all.

I get it, people get bored.

I'm probably pretty boring.

Just really really really really really really want someone to stay in my life.

I just don't get that, with people. I once saw the man I was close to here, say something to the effect of 'friendships last about a couple years.' Not exact words, but you get the meaning.

I never forgot that. But I see now that was his pattern. How odd.
