i still believe this

Modern kids will literally ignore a standing grandmother to stare at their phones.

We were raised with an absolutely ruthless code of respect.

If an elder walked into the room, your backside was out of that chair instantly.

You didn't hesitate or wait for someone to ask.

You gave up your comfort because that is exactly what absolute legends do.

Manners weren't some weak suggestion back in the day.

They were a brutal reflection of your entire family's honor.

If you sat while a pregnant woman stood, your mom would end your life right there in the clinic.

We learned that true strength meant taking care of the people who paved the way.

Disrespecting an elder was a guaranteed death sentence in our households.

We stood up straight and showed the world we had actual, undeniable class.

That hardcore discipline is exactly what this soft world is missing right now.

Damn straight and you always defended the ones that can't defend for themselves.

Would agree to a point. You can take it way out of context. In fact that was the case with minorities in the 50s and 60s.

And I'm not referring to just one race. It was mutual.

You wouldn't even stand up for a prostitute of any race. That actually happened. Nor they for anyone else. They were to be avoided.

Yeah my father was an exception, across the board. Taught me different ways. Even took me to lounges, with belly dancers, over the objections of my own mother.

That was why that attitude absolutely had change.

Respect works in multiple ways. The moment you disrespect anyone, you break down respect itself.
