I certainly do, still some around

Those are still around. My current car key can't be cut on one of those

@HumanEarth Subaru has the cuts but against a smooth face on each side. The edge of the key is a flat surface

My middle daughter car don't even have a key. Brand-new car 2025 and its been in the shop a bunch of times for computer problems.
My other daughter finely gave up and bought a restored 1986 Bronco. No computers or software issues

@HumanEarth I don't blame her at all. I've had keyless loaners and don't care for them. That key fob can be hacked and your car stolen

Never would have thought to buy one of those. I’d be afraid of ruining the original key. But I love flea markets. We have a large old one that’s famous near me. I’ve been going for over 50 years, buying and selling. Back in the 70s I built up my record collection buying used albums. Good times. Haven’t been as much since Covid but it’s still going strong.

Thank you, that's the term I was looking for - flea markets where you can buy fleas at a discount count price 🤣🤣🤣

@4thdimensiondream It doesn't damage the original key, just uses it as a template.

@ArishMell I’ve been told before “trust me you can’t break it.” You know the rest lol.

Remember them? I remember a long time before they existed. I think the last time I used one was around 1986.
HumanEarth · F
You do know they been around since the 1920s right

@HumanEarth I'm from the south. We were about 50 years behind.

"Remembers"?
Many ironmongers and certain other shops offer key-cutting, and there are specialist locksmiths about although those have always been a lot rarer.
I had a key copied only a two or three weeks ago.
I've never seen a temporary market stall offering the service, and I'd not use one anyway.
