So I watched the 2008 Bollywood movie Dostana today which had actors Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and actress Priyanka Chopra. So the first video is of the song Jaane Kyun from the movie. I had several memories with this song. I remember we had our old Maruti 800 which was a 2003 model but we bought it as a used model in 2009 and used it till 2015. This song used to play a lot in our car FM radio in 2009-2010 when I was a kid and whenever we went for trips in our car to places like Belur, Halebidu and Tirupati which are in Southern India several kilometers away from our city Bangalore in India. The song is so catchy honestly. Had so many memories with this song in our Maruti 800. The very surreal feeling I got was in July 2025 when this song played in our current car Maruti Suzuki Baleno's FM radio which is a 2022 model. Yeah had so many memories with it in our Maruti 800 so didn't expect to hear the same song in our Baleno car too as an adult.
The 2nd video is of the song Maa Da Ladla from the same movie. This is also a well recognized Hindi Bollywood song. I didn't even fully know that this song was from Dostana movie. This song has this full North Indian/Punjabi vibe. I have this memory with the song tho during a fun session in our MBA classroom in mid 2023 when we were in 1st semester of MBA. This guy Harsh who was a North Indian guy from Gurgaon in Delhi NCR region was dancing to this song during a fun session and this girl Khushi who was my initial crush and Harsh's gf at the time was enjoying this song too fully. Harsh was this smooth, confident, gym-built dude who could speak smoothly with women. It was kinda funny tho how Harsh danced and also Khushi was literally singing along with the song as she loves this song and she is from UP state of North India but now at 25 I am also confident with women. I again heard this in May 2025 when my dad's ex-colleague gave us Bengali family friends a family party in this brewery PrimeGolf in Whitefield area of our city Bangalore and there they played many Bollywood songs as mashup as most were North Indians, Bengali, Odia and Central Indians. They played this song and it felt great to hear as I was having some cold coca cola and some Tandoori momos haha.
