I am realizing that I need to consider my own benefits more in life. And do things in a way that is convenient for me, not for other people.

I need to draw lines and make decisions with the thought that the process shouldn't create hardships for me.

Challenges that are born from over-extending yourself to cater to the needs of others are unnecessary, espacially when the community you are helping isn't capable of accountability.

There has to be a balance between giving and the sense of accountability of the receiver, for the dynamic to be healthy. And if there isn't, there must be limits. It has to be conditional.

100% agree. Putting others 1st is a fastrack to breaking down so there will no longer be anything left to offer, by putting yourself 1st, you do more than just preserve, but improve. This is not likely to be understood in those who you come into contact with. With their limited view, all they can see is the results and go mindlessly "Give us more of that now, now now!!" But what you are able to do that they rely on, is only there to begin with to the extent that you put yourself first, to care for your well being, not just physical but mental and spiritual. ♥😌
