So this song Mar Jawaan from the 2008 Bollywood movie Fashion. This isn't just a song for me but also childhood memory. So it happened back in August 2011 when I was only like 10 years old and we had our Maruti 800 AC car at the time. So we had to pick up some guests from our home state West Bengal of India who came to our city Bangalore in India for medical checkup. The hospital was in Kadugodi area of our city Bangalore so me and my dad went in our Maruti 800 car and he was driving it. It was a 2003 used model which we bought in 2009 and used it until early 2015. So yeah while driving it, I remember on the Graphite Main Road suddenly this song Mar Jawaan was playing in our car FM and I loved the vibe of this song so much. I was then noticing my dad using clutch, accelerator and break of our car and I felt so proud thinking "We have a car now". Yeah before the Maruti 800, we only had a Hero Honda Splendor motorbike so yeah hearing the song and my dad using the clutch, break and steering wheel made me proud that we had a car. It was going so good but then after we picked up our guests from the hospital something embarrassing happened.
Our car's engine stopped. Yeah the car was quite old and used so yeah the engine used to stop in middle of road. The car wasn't starting. After a lot of try it started and again run fine until we reached closer to our home and again it stopped and he was trying to start it but it wasn't starting. I was almost panicking and about to cry because I loved our car so much and as a child I did cry whenever our Maruti 800 was damaged or not working. I was also embarrassed as guests were in our car and what if they thought our car sucks. So yeah it was such a contrast compared to when going to pick them up as our car was going smooth and this song was playing. Then in 2012 summer vacations at 11 years old, when we went to our hometown Siliguri too, I was hearing this song a lot while standing near our gate and observing the road, people and vehicles. Now we have a 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno which is way better than the Maruti 800 but now at 25 of course I don't get that special feelings in our car which i got as a child but damn this song still sounds so fresh now.
