A Memorial in Honor of My Dear Friend Mary 🌹

I want to share about my dear friend Mary, whom I have known for about ten years.

She has been such a sweet, faithful, and gentle presence in my life. Mary and I always put Jesus first in everything we did. Even in simple moments—like the times we would go out to eat—we would always pause to say our prayers and give thanks for His provision.

Our love for God shaped our friendship and our daily lives. It brought joy and peace into every moment we shared.

Mary is now living in a place where she receives care and support, as her mind is not what it once was. Sadly, she doesn't even know who I am.

Though I cannot be with her as I once was, I rest in the truth that God is holding her safely in His hands. I trust that He will protect her, care for her, and carry her gently through this season of life.

I cannot fix what has happened, and I cannot take her burdens away—but I can lift her in prayer, and I know that God will bring comfort and peace to her that I cannot provide on my own.

This experience reminds me—and I hope it reminds all who read this—that God’s presence sustains us through every loss, every change, and every heartbreak. Even when we cannot prevent the suffering of those we love, He is faithful. He strengthens our hearts, He carries our grief, and He gives us hope that surpasses all understanding.

I honor Mary for her gentle spirit, her strong and faithful love for God, and the joy she shared with all who knew her. I treasure our years together, and I look forward to the day when I will see her whole and well again, in heaven. Until then, I release her into God’s care, and I give thanks for every moment we shared, every laugh, every prayer, and every memory.

In sharing this, I hope it will encourage others to trust God in the midst of grief, to find peace in His love and grace, and hold hope beyond what we can see in this life.

Jesus’ victory over death, gives us the promise of reunion, comfort, and eternal life, and I'm forever grateful for that promise. Thank you, Jesus, for providing hope to us and life eternal.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18).

May we take comfort in His nearness, knowing He holds Mary and all our hearts with gentle care.

Jesus reminds us, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27). In Him, we can release our sorrow and rest in His perfect peace that passes all understanding. The same peace that Jesus gave me when my mother and father died within two months of each other.

And one day, the Lord will fulfill His promise: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (Revelation 21:4).

Until we see Him face to face, we hold on to this hope and promise, and rejoice in the eternal life He offers.
