I got something called sciatica. /=

It's when a nerve in the lower spine gets compressed. Went to the doctor after waking up from the pain in the night, the second night in a row lol, but apparently it's fine and will heal itself. She said she doesn't think it will come back, and I'm fairly certain it happened due to poor posture on my part. It's slowly getting better but it's taking a long time, and over a weak's time the pain has moved from my knee to my shin, to my foot, and is now in my butt. 😆

I have something on the same spectrum, that I've had for more than 15yrs now and it's just getting worse tbh. It used to be predominantly in the back of my left thigh but now it also affects my left buttock and up to slightly above my hip bone. I can't be comfortable in bed unless my leg is bent tight so that the muscle is compressed, but it's pretty hard to keep your leg that way in bed. I bought a massage gun recently and I'm using that every morning which does help a bit but yeah, my sleep is affected every night. I'm starting to get discomfort in my left instep too, such that I can't put any pressure on it including having it laying on the mattress, so that foot has to be positioned so my instep isn't touching anything. It's a trip 😬

@ostfuidctyvm Oh wow. Have you visited the doctor about it, do you know what causes it or if it can be treated? The sciatic nerve usually causes pain along the left side of the leg, but this treats itself as long as there's no permanent nerve damage.

I`ve had two spinal injections for it.

@Nightwings The last one has made a huge difference. Fingers crossed I won`t need it again.

@Degbeme I really hope so. 🤞🏻

@Nightwings Thank you

I know someone who's got Sciatica. Is it painful?
Nightwings · F
@Prince0217 It is most painful when I sleep, and especially bad for 3 days, but funny enough it doesn't hurt to walk on it. =D

I had when I was pregnant. It sucks!! Fortunately it went away after like a month. I hope it goes away for you soon.

Have you tried acupuncture?
Nightwings · F
@scorpiolovedeep No, I don't think that's how you treat it, but at least in my case it should go away on its own anyways. (=

Sciatica suuucks. I started experiencing it last year, I had no idea what it was

I hope you can correct it or at least maintain it! 💙

@caccoon Ahh I had no idea it was such a permanent issue for so many people. It's been around 7 days and now it aches but it's totally bearable. Still annoying if it doesn't eventually go away completely though. /=
