This was definitely one of the realest interaction I had with someone. Do you feel it was genuinely good?
So today in 1MG Lido mall of Trinity Circle area of our city Bangalore in India, in the snacks area of the mall which is a gourmet grocery area too selling high-end and imported items, I saw this woman who is a foreigner sitting and waiting for her snack. I initiated a conversation with her saying the line again "I am just saying Hi to new people". She responded well saying oh Hi. She is older tho about late 30s to mid 40s range and I am 25. Then I said "I often enjoy having cross-cultural interactions with people" and she appreciated it. Then I asked her which country she is from and she said Israel and I said oh wow. I then asked her whether she is working in Bangalore or just traveling and she is said she is traveling but she is basically stuck here and saying she is waiting for her flight to return back and ended the sentence with a laugh. I said oh wow I can understand the wait. Yeah we all know about the war. She said that the situation in Israel is messed up so yeah there has been problem in getting flight so she is stuck in Bangalore and then she explained in brief about the messy situation of her country and I said her yeah I saw it in the news. I also said her that I hope she is liking it in Bangalore so far and she said she is but she is now waiting for the flight. We then exchanged names and I said her about my MBA freshly done and she asked some questions about it and yeah we ended it with handshake and have a great day. But yeah this conversation felt so real as she wasn't talking like just some casual tourist on a vacation but a real problem in her country and being stuck but what was cool was that despite this she was smiling and laughing with me while talking.
She wasn't the only international interaction. I also met this very pretty German woman in Lavelle Road area outside the Starbucks. She is a tourist and we also had some back and forth interaction. She was tall almost my height(I am 176-177 cm) and she was laughing too while talking. But as she was waiting for her Uber, yeah it wasn't as long as some of my previous interactions but she was still great. But right after we were done talking, I saw a Rolls Royce Cullinan for real (its more "normal" in Lavelle Road to spot luxury cars) and immediately ran behind it to film the car. Haha I wonder whether the German woman noticed it tho but it feels a bit cinematic how I talked with a pretty foreign woman and suddenly a Rolls Royce appeared in the scene haha. But I still feel the interaction with the Israeli woman stood out a lot and I genuinely felt it was a very human to human moment. I wish tho I could validate or comfort her by saying her to stay strong and that everything will get better.
