If you are rubbing them the wrong way - maybe you can play back the conversations and see if you can find a pattern...
For years, I had to train myself to take a pause before I spoke so I could process the situation better and be more measured in what I said.

@fun4us2b I think I grew tired of being calculated. It was so much work to be someone I really wasn't. And liked only when I exhausted myself to be likable.

@ScreamingFox But in doing this you wouldn't be trying to be someone else - you would be working toward getting your words out the way you mean them...
