My 99 year old is doing really well.

I've established a gentle routine with her in the mornings. We've talked everything through about her marriage many times. Her husband even showed up one day, yelled at the staff, called me stupid and told her that he would never see her again...

A few months ago she was so wrapped up in his abuse she was a confused mess. Now she says she's ready to let him go. She's tired of him still trying to control her when he doesn't help with anything, he just makes it harder. She sees now.

I'm so amazed by her and proud of her. To be 99 and be uprooted from your home and your husband of 30 years and keep pushing every day. I'm honestly impressed by a lot of the seniors I meet. A warm smile and hello means so much to them. You can feel their love and appreciation.

I know it's not the easiest environment to be in, but my sweet lady is doing well. She's making friends and exercising daily. I was there for her PT evaluation and they said she's strong as an ox!

I'd love to celebrate 100 years with her 🖤

I'm just so happy she's understanding what she lived with before was wrong. That she deserves better. Her family is still a complete disappointment, but in the ways she needs me, I need her in ways too. It's a beautiful experience to add to my life of adventures.

She inspires me every day. Even on the hard days when she isn't coping well, it's so nice to be real with someone and help her through. She's real AF. I love her.
