Damn i heard this song for the first time during Holi last year. What do you feel?
So yeah today is the Indian festival Holi which is the festival of colors. So I remember during last year Holi, first i went to Koramangala area of our city Bangalore in India and eating in this Mizoram style restaurant which makes North East Indian food and near it there was a private event where people were dancing and playing Holi to several Bollywood songs including this Punjabi style song which I can't recall. But then when I got into the cab to go to UB City mall, I heard this song (Drinking From The Bottle by Calvin Harris) and damn I instantly loved it. This gave me full energy for UB City. For many drinking from the bottle might mean drinking alcohol but for me it means drinking coca cola haha because I don't drink.
Then after visiting UB City mall, i socialized with 2 foreign expat women separately. Yeah one was a woman from the US and another was probably from UK or Germany(I don't fully remember). It matches the song's vibe. I was feeling as if I was Calvin Harris and global. I was still doing the internship too in that edtech startup so those were my peak social times like I could talk to Indian women who were interns in the office and also talk to foreign women in UB City. Most Indians especially my peers were only playing Holi with other Indians whereas I went to UB City feeling Global and independent which made me feel proud. I used to often feel like Calvin Harris last year. Sadly now at 25 tho I don't have the structure as MBA is over and job seeking a so I miss early 2025 when I was in the internship and also 2023 to 2024 when I had regular MBA classes. But honestly for some reason I still feel very Calvin Harris particularly in UB City mall. This is the song
