Is the huge difference between my followers count and following count on Instagram weird or strange?
So I have been using my current Instagram account since 2022 but I still only have 180 followers but my following count is 1118 so yeah significantly higher than my followers count. Several of my followers deactivated their accounts so if they reactivate then my followers count would be around 187-189 but still significantly lower than my following count 😂😭. So yeah I have a very low follower count as a 25 year old male 🥲🥲. I have a huge following count as I do follow several women in their 20s from my city Bangalore in India and dm them but they don't follow back.
They mostly accept my follow request which increases my following count but not my followers as they don't follow back. Currently I am freshly done with my MBA and giving job interviews so not able to meet new people as easily like in University or previous internship so not gaining new followers on Instagram and as many of my follows and dms are cold dms or semi-cold dms, they don't follow me back. I do cold approach women in person but don't ask their Instagram as we just met 🥲. So yeah my followers count is stuck at 180 forever mostly as people deactivates their account, some unfollows, no new follow backs etc 🥲🥹. But I wonder whether having such a huge following count(1118) a bad thing while having such a low followers count. Do you feel people especially women will find it weird or suspicious with that huge follower and following count difference? 🥲😕 Like it will make me look as if I follow a lot of people but no one follows me back.
