We had a really important event at market tonight
Lots of money was raised for one of our local organizations that assists our unhoused population
They brought a demo bunkie that they're trying to get funding for, hopefully to build around our hospital for people who have gone through a recovery program, to keep them close to support, but so that they have a little tiny home to go home to.
A place to start building their life up again and giving them hope.
There was a little kerfuffle with the city (where I live is quite largely conservative), but I helped them push through by being supportive.
And I do have some good connections with a handful of city workers, and one of the main people who runs the city.
I think we might disagree on some points, but overall she was helpful and supportive and I'm glad.
I think a lot can be achieved with kindness and a straightforward attitude. (Might be naïve of me).
There were some stupid comments from a few people, but overall, it was well received and people were positive about the project.
It's a good point to get people talking and I hope to work more with them in the future. 💙
