2 surprising moments happened today for real. What do you feel about them?
So today even though I went to Central areas of our city Bangalore in India, I didn't have much international conversations as the foot traffic of foreigners especially expats were very low on a Wednesday afternoon but in Smoor Cafe of Lavelle Road, I saw this woman who looked a bit foreign and also a bit Indian. I said her Hi by waving at her. She also waved at me smiling. I said her I am just saying Hi to new people and she smiled and said Hi too. Her accent sounded foreign tho so I asked her whether she is working in Bangalore or just traveling. She said she is just visiting. I asked her which country she is from and she said she is from Thailand. Yes I didn't expect to meet a Thai woman. Sadly even though she was open to talking, I ended the conversation quick saying her "Have a great day" and she said the same maybe because my social fuel was low as it was dry footfall day. But yeah I was surprised as I didn't even know she was a foreigner and thought she was an Indian woman and initiated but she happened to be from Thailand.
Another crazy thing I saw was in Starbucks close to UB City mall. I literally saw a Tibetan monk working on a laptop for real. Yes he was wearing his saffron robes too. I am 25 and this was my first time seeing a Tibetan monk working on a laptop in a Starbucks like that and I never expected them. My hometown is Siliguri and the Tibetan monks are common there and in the hill stations and Monasteries there. I often associate them with hills, Monasteries, Bhutan, Sikkim etc so seeing one in a Starbucks on a laptop was genuinely shocking to me. I even waved at him saying hello and he too smiled at me. I just didn't expect him to be there in an area full of foreign expats, UB City mall, luxury brands, luxury cars etc. What do you feel about it?
