@BluntSm0ker I like this creator and was just browsing her videos when I came across this, and it reminded me of your comment. I honestly have never watched or even heard of that show before, but clearly people are very ignorant. I wouldn't expect people to know every detail about every country, but if people are gonna talk about this war, then they should know when it started.

There is a big difference between a frozen conflict in the east of the country, and a full-scale invasion destroying the land, levelling large cities to the ground, kidnapping thousands of children, murdering and terrorizing the entire population for 4 years. I do not see how Russia taking Crimea in 2014 could ever have warned Ukraine that the most tragic genocide would happen. Crimea is just one tiny part of Ukraine, so that's a dumb thing to say.
