Music, nostalgia and classic cars "1990s Chevy soap"
I found this song last night on a classic cars Instagram page. It's so beautiful and made me feel nostalgic for some reason.
It’s from 1996 and I was convinced for nearly 24 hours that it's a 20 years old song only to realize now that 1996 happened 30 years ago!!! So strange.
I was surprised to know there's even a video clip, I mean 30 years ago Saudi Arabia used to be too strict which I know were true from real life experiences that happened to my mom and grandpa. And it actually shows in the clip, it feels like it was made during Covid, there's only the singer, no dancers no women no humans. If compared to a 30 year old Egyptian song for example you'll get what I mean. It could be a coincidence still though. I know American song clips that are like that.
However to add my dramatic closure to this post I'm sure if I look it up I'll find some sheikhs and religious leaders who wanted him dead, it did happen to a famous Saudi comedian from the same era, some wanted him dead too. That's part of the extremism I'm talking about. That's not exclusive for Saudi Arabia though let's be fair. There are a lot of examples from around the world. Thankfully both the singer and the comedian are still alive today.
Ok here's the classic cars video. 1990s Chevrolet Caprice is known in the Arab world as Chevrolet soap from the way it looks and some says because it also drives so smooth. It's a beautiful car.
Here's the song

Rashid Almajid - I miss you
I miss you, I miss you
And I came to ask, to ask
I think I’m on your mind, on your mind
I hope nothing’s wrong, I hope nothing’s wrong
Why don’t you ask about me, ask about me?
What changed your feelings, your feelings?
I miss you, I miss you
Despite your distance and your neglect
And even though you’ve cut me off
You upset me, yet I come to please you
I love you and accept the reality
Despite your distance and your neglect
And even though you’ve cut me off
You upset me, yet I come to please you
I love you and accept the reality
I love you and accept the reality
Ah, I love you and accept the reality
I miss you, I miss you
No matter what I’ve done
And even if I was the one at fault
Asking about me wouldn’t hurt
Even if your heart is upset with me
No matter what I’ve done
And even if I was the one at fault
Asking about me wouldn’t hurt
Even if your heart is upset with me
Even if your heart is upset with me
I miss you, I miss you
I love you, most beautiful feeling
I miss your crazy love
When will you be pleased with me and soften?
You, the sweetest thing in this world
Ah, I love you, most beautiful feeling
I miss your crazy love
When will you be pleased with me and soften?
You, the sweetest thing in this world
You, the sweetest thing in this world
You, the sweetest thing in this world
I miss you, I miss you
