Sadly the damages are severe. /=
We just talked with the head of the building and she said our downstair neighbors are already trying to write all kinds of crap on the list of things that got broken. They want us to replace their front door and all kinds of dumb stuff lol. Unfortunately a lot of things were damaged, and we still don't know the full extend since we need to wait for all the water to dry before we're truly able to tell.
They'll eventually give us a number and then we'll discuss it. They have already called a lawyer to try to do all kinds of corrupt nonsense, so yeah, this is terrible. The head of the building has been trying to talk sense to them, but they are of course impossible to talk with. They've always been nutcases. If anything I just hope they'd rather fix the damages fast, than spend a million years taking it to court, but we're screwed no matter what.
It will likely cost more to repair the real damage to their apartment and things, than the debt we have already. Oh, and don't feel sorry for them, they're despicable people. The younger woman has a child that she would scream at and hit daily since the child was only 3 years old (the water did not travel to the child's room).
We are absolutely losing the apartment now (to pay for the damages), and Slavik will most likely get conscripted when that happens. I don't know if there's any way at all we can keep him from getting conscripted in the light of this, but that is all I care about finding out now.
