I think I’ll need to go through another wisdom teeth surgery

My wisdom teeth never fully came out, they were stuck inside my gums cause my mouth didn’t have enough space for them.

And now that I’m fucking old they’re causing me a lot of pain, I removed two of them, and there’re two left 🫩. This was the most painful surgery , worse than giving birth omg. You have to be fully sedated cause the process is too scary and bloody since the doctor needs to cut through your gums. Then you need to avoid solid foods for like a week 😑.

Which wisdom teeth did you have removed before? Top or bottom? Or one of each?

I've had all of mine removed. Three pulled and one via surgical extraction because it was more difficult. Luckily it was no big deal for me. The recovery period is irritating but it doesn't take long really. I got one post extraction infection which was a little painful but prompt treatment took away the pain pretty quickly.

@ostfuidctyvm Upper and lower ones, from one side.
Didn’t they five you preventive antibiotics? Over here that’s standard after any surgery.
@Younameit No, it's not standard over here. You would only get antibiotics before the procedure if there was an infection. They'd want that cleared up before the extraction. After the extraction you don't get anything as standard.
🤔 I don't remember the experience being all that bad. I had all 4 taken out at the same time. They gave me painkillers afterward, and there was little to no pain. I can't remember how lon I wasn't able to eat solid food, but I don't think it was a week.

@MsSwan It depends on the complexity of your case. In my case they were all horizontal so the surgery is a little more difficult in those cases. I decided to just remove 2 instead of all 4 cause I scared of the post-op. But I’ll have to do it again 🤧.
@Younameit Oh, ok. I didn't know they were coming in horizontally.

Sorry you have to go through that again.
I had it few months ago and still go on with my shift hours later after the procedure. It was painful af!!! Probably the most regret I’ve felt in ages. The kind that sits heavy and teaches you something whether you asked for the lesson or not.

@mindstruggle You’re brave for going to work after such delicate procedure

I have three and none of them emerged. The only bottom one is completely horizontal. 😬 I hope I will never need this surgery.

@Younameit Yeah, sometimes I have issues but it comes and goes and hope it won't ever get bad enough to need them out for real. Also I hope they won't damage the neighbouring molars. Paradoxically, it seems like the horizontal one that looks the scariest doesn't seem to cause any pain. It's the upper left one that I'm concerned about the most.

@CrazyMusicLover I hope nothing bad happens. But if it does , don’t waste time and go straight to the dentist/oral surgeon.

Horrible luck having 4 sideways wisdom teeth 😭.
I had all of mine taken out at once.

@deathfairy I should have done that, but I chickened out 😑
