Today I had one of the best socializing ever honestly. Do you feel it was cool too?
So I will share what happened. So in Church Street area of our city Bangalore in India which is very cosmopolitan, Western-looking and also youthful, in this Cafe named Chai Point, I saw this woman reading a book. So I approached her and initiated a conversation saying I am just saying Hi to new people. She appreciated it and was fully open to a conversation. She is from Sweden and is a traveler and not an expat. She is honestly very pretty and had blue eyes and is blonde and is mostly in her mid 20s or late 20s and I am also 25. So I shared about my MBA and everything and also said her that I would love to visit Sweden someday as I heard its beautiful. She also had this raw Scandinavian English accent which I found unique as previously I talked with 2 Swedish women too who are expats in the city but their accent was more Western. So she asked me many questions too like whether I am from Bangalore. I said her I am basically from West Bengal which is in Eastern part of India but living in Bangalore since 2008. She also asked about my MBA like in what I did it and I answered Business Analytics. She then said that she has heard the job market is quite hard here as one of her friend was trying to get a job here but she found it hard. I agreed saying its really hard as I am searching for a job too.
I asked her then whether she is studying or working now but she said she is done with all her studies but she isn't working either now so currently she is just traveling around. She then asked my name and I said it and whats crazy is she almost pronounced my name correctly as even many Indians pronounce my name incorrectly. I then asked her name as well and she said it. Then I asked her how she is finding Bangalore so far and she shared that she is finding it lovely. Then she also shared that she has been to Japan before coming here. She said the difference saying that Japan is colder but people are more orderly and disciplined there whereas its different here but she is liking the vibe of Bangalore better. I also agreed that I heard Japan being more orderly. I also asked her whats the most famous or staple dish of Sweden. And then she said its definitely meatballs. I then said oh wow never really ate it but would love to try it some day. Whats cool was she was fully engaged talking to me, asking questions and all. I also asked which book she was reading and she showed it and its about Rome. So after a great conversation we eventually ended it with a firm handshake and that it was great to meet you and have a nice day. Damn this was such a great conversation. If she was an expat I would have definitely tried asking her Instagram once as she was fully comfortable talking to me. One of the best cross-cultural conversation I ever had. Still can't believe I had such a smooth and long conversation with a beautiful Nordic woman like her.
