Sometimes I was not held back by hope as much as the thought of dying without a meaning.
I am stubborn like that.
A meaningful death is as important to me as a meaningful life, if not more. Death brings value very few are willing to consider. It is uncomfortable to think about it that way.
Other times what held me back is the uncertainty that comes with robbing others of hope. The unknowns that cling to looking at other people's lives, potentially creating more uncontrollable scenarios and suffering too, by merely ceasing to exist.
What we do matters in ways we can't really always come to see or quantify, just as what we fail to do.
I am here because of both, what I know and don't know.
