I am hurting today.

But I want to be awake so don’t want to over medicate myself.

Finding the balance is hard sometimes.

And I’m cold. My husband needs to come home and cuddle with me 😩

You dont have to answer of course as its your private buisness. But, what medication/s are you on? And are you on a stable daily dose. Are they dangerous to detox from?

@Perry1968 I’m on long acting opioids, benzos, and muscle relaxers and then have short acting ones for breakthrough pain which I’m trying to avoid at the moment. Sometimes the benzos make me sad/angry before they end up making me sleep.

So yeah they can be dangerous.

And before you judge me for being on pain meds, I’m on hospice so it doesn’t really matter any more lol

@SwampFlower Hey. Id never judge. I.ll also say i too am on benzos and opiode based drugs. I take the same dose daily. Ive been on the opiodes for decades and benzos since my wife died. Its why i asked as im pretty clued up on them. I know for me if i miss a day i get shivers from the opiodes and a few days after missing benzos im in true hell. Im also on anti Psychotics and Mirtazapine. PLEASE be careful with benzos as detoxing is dangerous. Im not trying to school you as you already may know this. My heart truly goes out to you and id never judge anyone for that. 💙

@SwampFlower Im an open book. Sometimes too much lol. I wouldnt worry about those who judge. Im more than sure they have skeletons in the closet. It is a struggles but please dont just cease the benzos. They truly are dangerous. I was born on benzos and alcohol. Something i only found out a few years ago. It took my mum 8 years to get off of them. She was in deep trouble with them god rest her soul. It can be done though and as you are young your body will fight better. Neuro pathways have to be rewired after completion of detox. I know in reality its about 1mg per month for vallium detox. Ive jumped 5mg at a time and its not a good idea. Plus detox works in percentages. So if im on 20mg of vallium per day and i drop 2mg thats 10% drop. Once i drop to 10mg then a 2mg drop is 20% and this is why people get trapped as the percentages rise the more you come down. If you ever plan to start dropping remember the percentage rule. Its very true but also very possible to achieve. Just take 1 small step at a time.
