Ignatian meditation is a form of prayer and meditation that uses imagination to engage with scripture, particularly scenes from the Gospels. Developed by St. Ignatius of Loyola, it involves using all five senses to "enter" a scriptural scene, such as a Gospel story, to have a personal conversation with Jesus and other biblical figures. The goal is to experience the scripture more deeply and personally, allowing for a "heart-to-heart" encounter with God.
