I have learned, you cannot sacrifice your well-being for someone who wouldn't do the same for you.

It just doesn't work. You will turn inside out with need and grief.

And people will make as many empty promises as you allow them. They will lie and manipulate until their last breath to avoid accountability. They do not understand honesty and caring.

I have been burned but I am healing well. Understanding a lot as time passes.

The longer he is gone, the more I realize that missing him was never an option.

Took me a while to learn that lesson. I had this distorted idea that to love meant always to give freely. Those are two separate things.

@Alyosha we cannot give freely to others. It's sweet of us, truly, if more people did give freely it would work. But it's not like that and we just get drained.
